Make a Damn Good Run Sheet

Every wedding is different and we want your day to run exactly how you picture it but hey we thought we would give you a few tips and an example of a fine-looking run sheet.

Think About Start and Finish times To Suit The Time Of Year

Of course the earlier the ceremony starts the earlier the party starts, this is somewhat correct……BUT!

Having an early afternoon ceremony for your summer wedding may not be the best idea. Standing in the summer heat from 2pm in your wedding attire is a guaranteed way to turn everyone into a hot potato and think about poor Nanna!! Not to mention a lot of sweaty photos.  Consider a later start instead maybe with a sneaky drink supplied on arrival.

Now if we flip it, starting too late in the afternoon in the winter months may minimize the hours of daylight you have for drinks and photos. An early start and an early finish are good options in winter if your location gets particularly cold too. Be flexible according to the time of year, we want Nanna to be comfortable.

Ceremony

More than likely your ceremony will go for around 30 minutes, which is a great amount of time for everyone to hear your love story and watch you sloppy kiss….Nanna loves it.

After the ceremony give yourself and your partner time to hug and hang out with your guests, let everyone chill and have a couple schoo-bangers to celebrate your love. More than likely we don’t need to rush into bridal photos as the light always looks better closer to sunset.

Photo Time

Round up your bridal party and let’s get some photos good enough to be on the cover of Vogue. Generally, we allow 30 minutes for shots with the bridal party and 15 - 30 minutes for lovers’ shots. This time may be extended if we need to travel off-site for photos.

Bring along some drinks because let’s face it not everyone loves the camera and a glass of champagne is the perfect distraction.

Most of all have a good time, it’s our forte to make everyone feel comfortable with us and to be themselves when there are a couple of cameras around so just focus on the moment and let the good times roll.

Reception

Alright, the day has fully kicked into gear and you’ve made it to the reception. Now it’s time for formalities to start….keep your iPad in your purse Nanna, we got this.

We all love a good speech and who doesn’t want to be told how great they are in front of a crowd….ego boner. Consider splitting up the speeches, for example, having two separate blocks of speeches is a great way to structure them.

When speeches are finished let’s bang out whatever is left to do and hit the dancefloor, for example, cut the cake, first dance, and then boogie time.
