TIP #1

Tell your DJ what you like! At Silent Shout, we will go through some questions to get to know you and your music taste. It’s important that you answer them authentically, and not just jot down what you think you should have at a wedding. This process is the perfect way to give us some insight in to your music taste and sets us up perfectly to pull some ideas together for your night – unlike something you’ve heard ever before! We humbly refer to ourselves as ‘sicker than your average’ for a reason.

TIP #2

Remember that the day is a celebration after all! So it’s important to match your music or entertainment to that level. A wedding is one of, if not the biggest party you will ever throw in your life! There will likely be plenty of booze and the vibes will be high. Your friends and family will take a few days off and everyone will be keen to give it a good nudge. So, the music needs to match this, and support your guests’ mood all day and all night. That means, bangers from the get go will make it a pretty exhausting shin dig, but on the flip side – spend too long with moody, chill vibes and you’ll take everyone to snooze town. For example, you might say you want some nice slow music to start off like Jack Johnson, Michael Buble, Maroon 5 – all great artists, but maybe not the perfect backdrop to building the right atmosphere at your wedding. Maybe you’d typically be listening to them on a Sunday morning rather than after 6pm on a Saturday night. Don’t worry, we got you!

TIP #3⠀

Trust your DJ. We will of course take plenty of inspiration from your personal taste and style, but it’s SO important that you give your DJ room to be creative and work the room. By chatting and sharing ideas with you in the lead up to your wedding, we hope to build a solid friendship built on trust! That way, you’ll know we’ll have your back in playing what we know you like, plus a little something else on top if we know it’ll be best for the vibe at that moment in your evening. If something isn’t working, we want your trust to steer the atmosphere back to what you and your guests are after, and put your wedding in the history books as the funnest night ever!

We truly believe music is the most important ingredient of any great party, and we hope these tips empower you to spice up your wedding playlist!
